Event Details

More and more often these days, teachers are expected to deal with disciplinary issues during classroom instruction time.  In this interactive workshop, facilitated by Morningside Center staff developer Kristin Page Stuart, participants will explore Morningside Center's approach to discipline, which is grounded in social and emotional learning.  Together participants will:

  • look at the three arms of Holistic Discipline and take time to reflect on their school's approach to discipline
  • unpack their assumptions about what discipline means and begin to challenge and reshape those assumptions
  • talk about their experiences with discipline and how it affects their teaching
  • learn skills to integrate self-awareness, conflict resolution, and personal responsibility into their approach to discipline
